Never forget God’s love for you.
Do you think God doesn’t love you because you have sin in your life? You are not by yourself. As humans we judge ourselves by the good we do and are convicted by the bad. God’s is not like that, His love for you is unconditional regardless of your sin. These questions about God’s love for you will help to encourage your heart.
Where is Scripture About God is Love?
“Dear Friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.” 1 John 4: 7-8 NIV
In verse seven, it’s talking about Christians who have now taken God’s love and matured to giving that love to others. Those in verse eight, have never known God’s love.
When it’s said that God is love, the reality is that love originated with God. There is not any love without God. It is who He is. “Nothing God ever does, or ever did, or ever will do, is separate from the love of God.” A.W. Tozer
What is the meaning of God’s Love?
Human love is fickle and is based on emotion. God’s love is unconditional and is not about how good you are.
“But because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions–it is by grace you have been saved.” Ephesians 2:4-5 NIV
God’s love for you is in spite of your sin and in His mercy He reaches down to save you. As seen in the second part of this verse, it is by grace you are saved. You can never be good enough to stand on the same level as God.
“All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away,” Isaiah 64:6 NIV
How Does God Show His Love?
“But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 NIV
God loves you so much that He sent His only Son to die for your sins. As much as you may love someone, are you truly willing to give up your life for their sin?
“God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” 2 Corinthians 5:21 NIV
God in His perfection cannot look on sin. Since humans are not capable of perfection, God provided a means to have fellowship with Him both now and in eternity. Jesus answered that when He died on the cross for your sin and received your punishment. He did not sin, yet He endured not only physical pain but the agony of God turning His back on the sin Christ was carrying.

- Prayer. “I love the Lord, for he heard my voice; He heard my cry for mercy. Because He turned his ear to me, I will call on him as long as I live.” Psalm 116:1-

"You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways." Psalm 139:1-3 NIV
David knows that God is aware of every part of his life. Not only of his obedience or sin, but even his daytime and nightly routines. God cares about David and his welfare. He is conscious of David’s thoughts and ways,
The privilege is not just for David, but extends to all those that He loves. This includes you and I.
Does Anything Separate You From the Love of God?
“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:37-39 NIV
Looking at the end of verse 38, we see that the love of God is in Christ Jesus. The only way you can find God’s love is in His Son. When we trust Jesus as our Savior, God’s love is able to flow through us.
In Christ Jesus, nothing can separate from God, not even our sin. God sees Christ’s righteousness when He looks at a follower of His Son and we can approach Him because of what Jesus did for us.
How Do I Receive God’s Love for Me?
To receive God’s love for you is very simple. If you know Jesus as your Savior, it already belongs to you.
“This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.” 1 John 4:9 NIV
If you do not know Jesus as your personal Savior, tell Him that you accept the gift of His life in place of your sin. Let Him know you are repenting of your past sin and want to follow Him. Jesus loves you.
